Playoff thoughts 1

Perhaps the most important key is whether Marty will continue to give Cameron his freedom. I pray so but the old cliche about 'teaching dogs' and 'tricks,' surely seems apt . That said, I am almost as fearful about the DB play. Perhaps it is something inherent in all Charger fans regarding the lack of trust in the DBs. Even with their improved play this year, they can still be beat. Especially when the line isn't getting monster pressure on the QB.

News and notes: January 6

  • ESPN had an interesting ranking done position-by-position among the playoff teams and had the Chargers on top. What I thought was interesting was the OL ranked #1 (really, the best in the NFL?), and special teams #2 (based almost solely on their kickers). Makes for a nice read if you enjoy player analysis.
  • LT picked up the Offensive MVP today, too. Shocking.
  • Jason Taylor won the Defensive MVP, which he probably deserved. But politicking for it by stepping on Merriman wasn't the classiest thing someone's done.
  • Art Shell was fired by Raiders, which seemed to get very little pub. It almost isn't enjoyable anymore watching the misery they've become. I guess Cam Cameron feels the same as he rejected their request to interview for the head coaching job. Now that was enjoyable.
